Chapter 2

The morning sun poured through the curtains as Ananya sat at the breakfast table, sipping her tea. She had been thinking about this all week—a small shopping trip for herself. She glanced at her father, trying to sound casual.

“Dad,” she began softly, “I want to go shopping today. Just for a few things… can I go?”

Her father looked up from his newspaper, raising an eyebrow. “Shopping? Alone?” he asked, frowning slightly. “I have too many things to do today, and you…”

Ananya bit her lip, thinking fast. “I’ll be careful, Dad. Just a short trip. I really want to buy some new clothes.”

He shook his head. “I’m sorry, Ananya. I can’t leave right now, and I don’t want you going alone.”

Her mind raced. She needed someone reliable to accompany her. “What if… Siddharth comes with me?” she asked innocently. “He knows the city well, and he can keep me safe.”

Her father paused, then chuckled. “Siddharth? He’s busy today. Probably has meetings.”

Before Ananya could respond, the door opened. Siddharth stepped in casually, leaning against the frame, his calm and confident presence immediately filling the room. “Good morning,” he said smoothly. “I hope I’m not interrupting.”

Her heart skipped. Perfect timing, she thought.

Her father smiled. “Actually, perfect timing. Ananya wanted to go shopping, and I told her no. I didn’t think I could leave her alone.”

Siddharth’s eyes darkened slightly, a teasing smirk forming. “I see,” he said, glancing at Ananya. His gaze lingered, and she felt a shiver run through her.

“Dad,” Ananya said eagerly, “if Siddharth comes with me, I’ll be safe. He knows the city, and he can make sure nothing goes wrong.”

Her father studied Siddharth for a long moment. Siddharth’s calm, confident smile seemed to convince him almost instantly. “Fine,” he said finally. “If Siddharth goes with you, you can. But only for a few hours. Stay safe.”

Ananya’s face lit up. “Thank you, Dad!” she exclaimed. She turned to Siddharth, her eyes sparkling. “See? You’re coming shopping with me!”

Siddharth smirked, his dark eyes lingering on her. “I’m honored,” he said, voice low and teasing. “But I hope you’ll behave for me.”

“I’ll behave… mostly,” she said with a laugh.

“Mostly, huh?” he murmured. “We’ll see about that.”

After breakfast, they headed out. Siddharth offered his arm, and she placed her hand on it, feeling a thrill. Walking through the bustling streets, he stayed close, his presence commanding and magnetic. People glanced at them, noticing the older, confident man accompanying the young, beautiful woman, and Ananya felt a mix of pride and excitement.

“So,” Siddharth said with a smirk, “what exactly are we shopping for?”

“Clothes,” she said, smiling nervously. “Something bold… maybe something different.”

“Bold, huh?” he murmured, his tone teasing, darkening slightly. “I like the sound of that.”

Ananya laughed softly. “Don’t tease me,” she said, though a part of her wanted him to.

“Teasing?” he asked innocently. “I’m just observing you.”

They entered the first boutique, filled with racks of vibrant clothes. Siddharth held the door for her, his hand brushing lightly against hers. The small touch made her shiver.

As Ananya tried on the first dress, a bold, deep blue number that hugged her curves, Siddharth waited outside the changing room, leaning casually against the wall. She peeked out shyly, and his dark eyes met hers, sending a rush of heat through her body.

“Come out,” he said softly, almost a command, his voice low and smooth. “Let me see how it looks.”

Her heart pounded as she stepped out. “It… it fits well?” she asked nervously.

“Perfect,” he said, smirking. “You look… impossible to ignore.”

Ananya’s cheeks burned. His words were bold, teasing, and dominant all at once.

They moved through boutique after boutique. Each time she tried on something new, Siddharth’s eyes followed her, dark and intense, making her pulse race.

At a small designer store, she picked a striking red dress, and as she held it up to herself in the mirror, Siddharth’s voice came softly from behind, low and teasing: “I think you’d look dangerous in that one… very tempting.”

Ananya’s breath hitched. “Dangerous?” she asked softly, her cheeks turning crimson.

“Yes,” he said, stepping closer. “And I’d like to see just how dangerous you can look.” His gaze swept over her body, lingering on every curve, making her shiver with anticipation.

She tried to hide her reaction but couldn’t. Every look, every word from him made her pulse quicken.

“Stop staring,” she whispered, though a small smile betrayed her nervous excitement.

“Stop?” he asked, smirking. “I don’t think I can do that. You look… captivating.”

Ananya felt a thrill rush through her. He was bold, confident, and in control—but in a teasing, thrilling way that made her want to obey him.

By the time they finished shopping, she had tried on more outfits than she could count, and Siddharth had commented on each with teasing boldness. His presence made every choice feel more thrilling, more intimate, even though they were surrounded by people.

As they walked back toward the car, the sun low in the sky, Siddharth brushed his hand lightly against hers. “You behaved… mostly,” he murmured, voice low, teasing, and commanding.

Her cheeks warmed. “Mostly,” she echoed, smiling.

Ananya realized that this simple shopping trip had become far more exciting than she imagined. Every look, every word, every subtle touch from Siddharth made her heart race. And deep down, she knew this was only the beginning of something dangerous and thrilling.
